Dreaming in Color is a new series exploring color and how texture, line, shape, movement and pattern can be found when colors combine, overlap, and evolve on a surface. Her inspiration comes from nature, her subconscious mind while sleeping and her overall obsession with color. She uses acrylics, watercolors, yarn, thread, beads, and a variety of other materials to explore the base elements of the natural world and hopes to offer a unique perspective open to the interpretation of the viewer. She likes to create work on both canvas and 300 pound cold-pressed watercolor paper. The frames that can be found on many of her works on canvas are handmade by Marie’s husband, Nic Darling.
